Final race of what has been a fantastic start to the 2020 Australian TransAm series.

John English in the no.11 Firebird again too strong for the no.20 Firebird of Ian Palmer. Palmer keeping the pressure on all the way to the flag no.69 Tenkate and Chris LaRosa no.3 rounded out the top 4 with Peter Shultz no.8 5th in the Get Chopped 6 litre class, Shultz enjoying his first race weekend with Australian TransAm.

Again the competition in the Blaze Batteries 5 Litre class was fierce Ron Prefontaine taking a clean sweep with the battling pack again dropping back. Tricia Chant in the no.35 tried lap after lap to pass Mike Collins in the no.22 Mustang pulling alongside multiple times out of the last turn but Collins skilfully holding her off. Shultz joined the fight finding his way past the no.66 of Gareth Jones. After a great weekend of racing unfortunately Jones had to retire the no.66 with a badly worn ball joint but thankfully no damage to the car.

It's been a triumphant return to racing at Lakeside with lots of spectators coming along to enjoy a great weekend of racing and getting up close to these great cars in the pits.
